Welcome to BCFSS

Dedicated to furthering the interest and appreciation of folk music through education, research, and participation; familiarizing the people of southeastern Pennsylvania with authentic folk art; and providing a meeting place for those with a common interest in folk music.

LATEST NEWS
4/29/2024

Due to the difficulty of simultaneously setting up for the potluck supper and the zoom circle, we will forgo zoom participation for the May meeting. Starting with the June meeting we will have zoom participation for even-numbered months only. Zoom circles require a substantial amount of setup and tear down time, and with most members now attending in person, zoom participation has dwindled. We will continue zooming on alternate months to maintain contact with remote participants who cannot attend in person.

Our May meeting will begin with our annual potluck supper, followed by an in-person progressive theme circle. In-person attendance is encouraged, but vaccination is still required by the venue.

DATES TO REMEMBER
5/5/24 - 5:00 pm ~ Monthly Meeting (Vaccination Required)
Potluck Supper: A-M: Main Dish, N-Z: Side or Salad
Circle: "Progressive Theme"

6/2/24 - 6:45 pm ~ Monthly Meeting (Vaccination Required)
Circle: "Please - Pleas"

Our Members Website is available at http://bucksfolk.org/membersiteAt the members website, you can review the members directory, listen to previous BCFSS concerts and zoom meetings, review past issues of the Buckhorn, and view the official BCFSS constitution. This is a private website requiring a userid and password.  All current members having email addresses should already have received their personal userid and password.  If you don't know your userid and/or password, you can use your email address of record to retrieve the your userid and reset your password. Many thanks to Wes Powers for developing this useful and interesting membership perk.
Our Folk Community News page proved too labor-intensive to keep up to date.  However, it still provides details on our anonymous mailing list.  Anything that would have made the Folk Community News page will be forwarded directly to your email box if you sign up.  News items relating to BCFSS are listed right here (you're reading one right now).
Contributions continue to be received for housing and maintaining the Tor Jonassen memorial record collection which has been donated to the Sing Out! organization in Bethlehem, PA.  To donate contact the BCFSS treasurer or Sing Out!.
