WHO
WE ARE:
We are a group of people
dedicated to furthering the interest and appreciation of
folk music through education, research, and participation;
familiarizing the people of southeastern Pennsylvania with
authentic folk art; and providing a meeting place for those
with a common interest in folk music. Our membership
includes novice, amateur, and professional performers and
singer/songwriters as well as listening members of all ages
and from all walks of life. We all share a love of primarily
acoustic music, and we enjoy it most when sharing it with
friends. Several excellent performing groups have resulted
from associations that began at our meetings. New members are always
welcome.
SOCIETY
ACTIVITIES:
Here's a quick summary of our many and varied
activities. A number of other things that we DON'T do are
listed below under Non-Activities.

NON-ACTIVITIES:
In answer to a variety of FAQs,
here are a few things we DON'T do that you should be aware
of.
- We DON'T book outside talent - we are
blessed with an abundance of willing and talented
performers within our ranks. If you're interested in
performing in the area, please consult our extensive list
of local venues and let us know when you'll be in the
neighborhood.
- As a follow-up to the previous item - our
performing members DON'T get paid for participation in
BCFSS events. It's strictly for the exposure and the sheer
joy of it.
- We DON'T sponsor a festival, we're busy
enough already. However, we are more than happy to
publicize and participate in festivals that take place
within a reasonable distance from Bucks County, PA.
- We DON'T engage outside food or merchandise
concessions for any of our events.

- We DON'T serve alcoholic beverages at our
meetings and events - the landlord wouldn't permit it
anyway.
- We DON'T include information other than
links to non-member performers - there are entirely too
many. We do provide links and limited assistance in web
page development as a special service to our
members-in-good-standing.
- We DON'T accept any paid advertising or
links. This site is strictly non-commercial and includes
only links to other sites that we deem to be of interest
and value to our audience. These may or may not be
commercial sites, but no endorsements or obligations
whatever are expressed or implied.
If you have any other questions about the
workings of our organization, you may find your what you
need on our FAQs page. If not, please don't hesitate to ask.

MEMBERSHIP
IN THE SOCIETY:
$10 per Person or $15 per Family (half-price
after June 30) makes you one of us. This allows you to come
to all our meetings , join in our music, play in our gigs, and eat our
snacks for the rest of the calendar year. You also get
monthly issues of our incredibly entertaining and
informative newsletter, THE BUCKHORN. Finally you get the
opportunity to share music with us at almost any level that
suits your talents and inclinations. If performing isn't
your thing, you get the opportunity to listen to many others
who would love to play for you.
If you're interested in joining us, you can
contact our Treasurer (see below) to make arrangements, or
just drop in at one of our monthly meetings and bring your
wallet. Of course, you're always welcome to
attend a meeting as our guest, just to see if what we do is
for you, but if you decide to visit more than once or twice,
we ask you to ante up.
